  1. Me as a main Path of the Champion player, better max her level and beat Asol before the nerf. Varus and Kayn are decent in POC then the nerf hit them hard (especially Kayn) it's not fun to use them on level 3 or 4 star anymore.

  2. man why is 1 frame explanations becoming a thing? Like yeah it's an entirely valid point that your example should be thought of in isolation but like most people aren't gonna scan your video for each one of those

  3. Someone said something below about how husks can only be generated based on regions "seen", which I think is a really good idea.

    It doesn't completely remove all options from Evelyn, since she is a runeterra champ and has husk generators from different regions, she just doesn't get certain husks in the pool till playing them.

    Then more husks are added based on your secondary region and what region the opponent is playing. Adds an extra element to deck-building and will actively change how she plays vs each matchup with different regions in their cards.

  4. Really enjoyed listening to your analysis here. It does a great job of articulating what (I think) a lot of LOR players find frustrating about mechanics like husks.

    Out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on portals, and would you ever consider making a video on them? Some of what you talked about here definitely reminded me a little of portals.

  5. I played Evelynn to iron to Platinum and I thought that she was pretty fun, but when I found others siren song decks like fizz Samira or PORO KING I understood what the problem was.
    In one hand, siren song is strong for Evelynn because of the buffs and Xoolani, but in the other hand, if you play that card in a deck where every unit will be buffed without the random element of the husks, then you have an unstoppable force, that's the problem.

    Siren song is just too good and don't ask for strategy in the deck building

  6. If Chaos Bolt (@3:32) was a real card it wouldn't be statistically balanced. Just play it before you lose for a 50/50!. It would only be balanced if you were FORCED to play it at the start of the game. I get the point you want to get across though

  7. tbh, I'd wish they reworked evelynn.
    she's one of the champions that doesn't feel translated at all to LoR compared to her LoL gameplay.

    take a look at nasus, an extremely weak card that builds a lot of power and health and is summoned late game, due to both his mechanic and cost, to finish it.
    that feels like a nasus card, and it's one of the best in terms of translating the champion to a card game.
    however, eve main gimmick is being invisible and a predator that strikes the moment you think you're safe, but that doesn't get translated at all in the game.

  8. This mechanic just sounds like it needs a rework. It sounds like there is too much variance and anyway of loading up the variance just makes things feel terrible like backloading or too advantageous even in things that splash only the very best already like front loading the power.

  9. 3:09 Umm actually that card is insanely broken because you can just add that card to any deck. If you can win with 1 less card in your hand, then just never play the Chaos Bolt, if you can't win with 1 less card in your hand, roll the 50-50. Even if going -1 card in hand means your win rate falls to 1%, this still means that the card would have a 50.5% win rate. It'll never have a win rate below 50% unless you up the Mana cost significantly, while it still can have win rates above 50%.

    An easy fix would be to make this a Start of Game effect

  10. big agree on strong key words needing to not be given out so easily or so randomly, those should be in a level where you need to work for them or pay more for them. Also Eve's design in generating husks is SO silly thats not really how she works at all. She doesn't care about helping allies. IDK if Husks should be removed but she needs a redesign. Im not sure there's many lol fans who think Eve's design matches her gameplay OR her Lore, she's gotta be one of the most ill fitting changes they made for LoR

  11. id just give husks vulnerable and make husk generation not random. IE domination always spawns the spellshield husk, sulter and vora always spawn fearsome, solitude always spawns quick attack, steem always spawns overwhelm. wait why is overwhelm the bildgewater husk, that should be noxus. thats just an example anyways. elusive husk should be removed reguardless

  13. Honestly, I think Evelynn will get rotated out of standard with the next rotation. other than that, I don't think there's any really good way to ensure that husks get balanced other than changing the keywords that the Ionian Husk and Shuriman husk provide. (Elusive and Spellshield)
    Ionia doesn't unfortunately have a good replacement keyword, since Quick Attack is already provided, and Lifelink is probably just as bad a high roll as elusive or spellshield. Shurima also doesn't have a good replacement, since fearsome is consumed by Shadow Isles.

    overall, what I'd suggest is the following, formatted as follows (Husk region, keyword -> new Keyword):
    Bilge, Overwhelm -> Brash
    Shurima, Spellshield -> Overhwelm
    Ionia, Elusive -> Barrier

    This allows each husk to feel not quite as "High Roll"

  14. The thing is, card game is based on randomness. Husk is a problem now because it is a strong deck, not randomness. The "unfun experience" is not for both player, husk enjoyers won't play husk deck if they think it is unfun. If u still play husk deck while disliking it is because it is a strong deck and ur main goal is to climb rank, u are forced to play it and it is not for fun.
    Personally i played a lot of meme decks, meme decks have quite low winrate, but if it works it will always win. As u can see this is also a randomness, people get beaten by meme deck won't think its fun because they will think i'm just so lucky so much highroll for that match. On the other hand when i lose with meme deck i won't think it is unfun, the reason i play meme deck is…… i think it's fun, that's it. I don't care it has only 20% winrate, i simply enjoy it.
    So the real problem is, they make a heavy rng deck too strong, people just can't accept the deck is strong in fundamental, they still live in the past when it was a low tier deck, so they blame "randomness" because when u lose to a bad deck it is mostly rng.

  15. Honestly just changing the spell shield and elusive husks to have a different keyword would probably be the best and simplest change, maybe brash and fated would work better.

    I would like husks to be like improvise where you can choose which husk to summon but 2 choices instead of 3 (maybe a new keyword called like enamored or something), but that would require a pretty hefty rework and would require Evelyn to change as that would work on turns ends (unless they keep that randomness).

  17. Eu não gosto do estilo de jogo da Evelynn, acho chato e sem contexto com a campeã.
    Outro problema dela é que a Riot melhora as cartas do arquétipo dela, mas não melhora seu estilo de jogo e isso só faz as cartas dela verem mais jogo do que a propria campeã. Eu mesmo estou jogando mais contra o feitiço "Canto da Sereia" do que com a Evelynn.
    Acho que eles precisam dar um rework na Evelynn, desde o seu lançamento ela é completamente um fracasso, junto com outros campeões como Urdy e Galio. Urdy que até hoje não recebeu 1 cartas para ajudar a ver jogo.

  18. The simple fix to this husk issue is to make them vulnerable. Dunno how that effect the balance of Eve decks, but that should solve all the problems, minus the impact it has on those decks.

  19. As other have said having husks summoned based on the card being played could potentially work. As it pretty much removes elusive husks from existence as their isnt an ionina husk card so you old get it by sacing an ionian unit with hate spike. Or high roll on siren song (or siren song give exclusively overwhelm as thats the bildgwater keyword) or evelyn. The other issue would be that dominion being a shurima card would now 100% summon spell sheild when she is played.
    You could also have siren song eveleyn and hate spike all summon the husk of your secondary region. Although then you pair evelyn with ionia and every husk is an elusive husk, althouh ionia card were elusive anyway.
    To be fair elusive was always a problematic keyword ever since the beta.
